Badminton School and Etherton Education are pleased to announce they have partnered to provide international children aged 13 – 17 with a new and exciting summer English language course for 2018.
An ‘Introduction to British Boarding at Badminton School’ is a boutique four week course built around the great qualities of British Boarding Schools and is an excellent introduction for international students wishing to study at a UK Boarding School. During the four weeks, not only will students study intensive English language, but they will gain invaluable study skills by taking part in multi-disciplinary lessons, workshops and trips taught and led by the high-quality teachers at Badminton School. Further skills in academic excellence, leadership and teamwork, communication, confidence and creativity will be developed.
Each week will focus on a different theme: ‘Young Inventor’, ‘Young Adventurer’, ‘Young Citizen of the World’ and ‘Young Creator’, and will include a special trip or activity related to the theme. These trips include a visit to Warwick Castle, Brunel’s world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge and a trebuchet making activity; private access to Bristol Zoo followed by a formal dinner in their pavilion and a tour of the SS Great Britain; a trip to the ancient Roman Baths in Bath and a tour of the BBC Bristol Television Studio; a visit to Bristol’s International Balloon Fiesta and a clay model workshop with Aardman Animations, the creators of ‘Wallace and Gromit’.
The full four week course will run from Sunday 15 July to Sunday 12 August 2018 and accommodation will be provided in one of Badminton School’s attractive boarding houses. Places are very limited and can be booked via Etherton Education. Following the course, girls interested in applying to Badminton School as a full-time student will receive a 50% refund on the summer course fees if they are accepted. Applicants will need to go through Badminton’s full admissions procedure and entry is not guaranteed.
