The EFL Development Manager (EFL DM) is a new role. The role of the EFL DM is to position, grow and maintain the profitable and sustainable sales of English Language weeks (and associated add-ons) to Taiwanese students looking to study at partner schools in OECD English speaking countries. To achieve this, the EFL DM will work with and across our offices island-wide and with our overseas school partners to implement a highly competitive sales model and effective sales process.

Role
• Located in Taiwan (nine offices as of Feb 2019)
• English as a Foreign Language study sales is the core focus of this position.
• The EFL Development manager will work alongside counsellors, office managers, the marketing and exhibitions teams to grow this business.
• Destination focus will be on the USA & UK with expansion into other markets subject to future strategic planning.
• Partnerships will be sought throughout Taiwan with close coordination with local offices.
• Key indicators will be used to measure the success of language sales. In particular and pertaining specifically to EFL, partnership development, lead generation, lead conversion, and exhibition attendance will all be used as measurement criteria.


Job Responsibilities:
★★International partnership oversight
• Being the UKEAS/USEAS key contact for language school partners.
• Monitor competitor offers/discounts and liaise with language school partners to ensure the same can be promoted to UKEAS/USEAS customers.
• Arrange training in office for counsellors in coordination with the UKEAS/USEAS OS counselling managers.
• Work with key partners schools to ensure strong relationships. Determining these schools will depend on course/location suitability for customers, appropriate geographic balance, good incentive/commission schemes and support from the school attending our events.
• Where possible, in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer, negotiate preferential commission arrangements with partner schools.
★★Local partnership building
• Working with local universities, schools and cram schools to develop long term relationships for group overseas study tours.
• Local partnership building will be in coordination with local offices across Taiwan who jointly fund this position.
★★ Operations
• Oversee the day-to-day counselling process Taiwan-wide as applied by receptionists, counsellors and counselling assistants.
• Work with office managers and the UKEAS/USEAS counselling managers to ensure teams are responding in a timely, professional manner.
• Work with the IT team to ensure our website is competitive within the market.
• Benchmark against competitors for promotions, website and service levels.
• Work closely with the central marketing team to ensure promotions are kept up-to-date and that UKEAS is positioned correctly within the market.
★★Exhibitions & Events
• Work with the Events Team to ensure a strong representation of language schools at all major events.
• Work with the marketing team to ensure that EFL is being positioned correctly in the marketing plan for all major events.
• Establish regular events in offices throughout the island to help grow the business while generating new leads.
• Work with off-site, third party organisations to run events in schools, universities, cram schools or elsewhere where appropriate.


Position requirements:

• Previous experience working in a sales role, preferably in EFL sales.
• Comprehensive understanding of the EFL business.
• Demonstrable ability to build and maintain business relationships in a proactive manner.
• Demonstrable competence in strategic planning and business development.
• A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in business, or extensive business experience.
• Demonstrable knowledge of IT, business data analysis and digital marketing would all be assets for this role.
