Duration: 36 to 48 months – but tends towards
48 months (4 years).
This new programme is similar to
the American PhD – it offers more taught elements,
specialist modules and training in research methods
and professional skills.
Entry requirements: a masters degree or a good
first degree.
40 per cent of the programme consists of taught
subject modules. 60 per cent is based on general
and specific research training and will include
a thesis.
