輕鬆完成讀書計畫!
首先要告訴同學們的是，讀書計畫不需要太長，寫完A4紙一整頁就夠了。超過兩頁嫌太累贅，不太好。
在650-800字之間恰到好處。
大部份的讀書計畫只需要五段－
- Introduction 介紹
- Academic Background學術背景
- Work Experience/Extracurricular Activities 工作經驗/課外活動(若剛畢業)
- Motivation for studying this course 學習該課程的動機；你為什麼想在英國用英文唸書？
- Future Career Plan and how this course will enable you to
achieve your goals 未來計劃；述該課程如何能讓你達成你的目標？
最難寫的部份是如何開頭！所以我們就從這裡開始。
開一個Word文字檔，鍵入標題，現在可以開始填空白的部份！
我們開始寫第一段：
Introduction 介紹
第一段應超過5-8行，簡單表明你想唸的科系，為什麼你覺得這個科系適合你，所以一段好的介紹應如此開頭：
Having accumulated nearly five years of work experience in
accounting and other related fields, I seek to pursue a Masters
in Finance at your prestigious institution beginning in 2006.
I wish to upgrade my financial planning and analytical skills,
which I hope to use in assisting companies to adapt to an
ever-changing market and become more competitive and successful.
不要寫的事情：介紹你的家人，例如我有一個兄弟、兩個姊姊等，或者有關自己的童年生活、上大學之前的學校生活這一類。
注意：只有在你曾任職家族企業或未來會管理家族企業的情況下，才需要提及家人。
Academic Experience學術經驗：
你應該在第一句便講明 a)你從那裡畢業 b)何時畢業 c)畢業科系。例如：
“I graduated from South Taiwan University of Technology in
2002 with a bachelors degree in Computer Science.”
接下來應該談：
與你申請課程相關的你讀過的科目，談談其中你覺得最有趣的部份、為什麼有趣等等。縱使要讀的碩士學位與大學學位不相關，請試著提及任何你曾修讀過，與未來學習相關的課程－例如，如果你的主修是應用外語，但想唸商業碩士，應該提到你修過的任何商業英語或商業管理這方面的課程。
請不要談你最喜歡的科目，而該科目卻與碩士課程毫無關聯，所以你若是申請財經課程，就不要說你對行銷很有興趣。
如果你剛畢業，你也可以提：
任何你參與過的競賽或活動，任何你得過的獎，只要他們有相關聯。
任何你參與過的社團、活動，曾擔任社團幹部。
請不要：解釋一大堆課外活動，只要提三、四年間的即可。
對於已有2年工作經驗者，這個部份可以略去。
請不要：造你擔任過的職位及參加過的活動，只要用簡單的英文描述你曾參與的活動就很好了。
例如，請不要寫: I also served as the chief press executive of the
departmental cocktail making alumni association.
Do write: I enjoyed making cocktails in my spare time.
請寫： I enjoyed making cocktails in my spare time.

任何參加過的專業訓練課
(ie) I took professional training courses at Giraffe Childrens
English Institute and I was awarded a certification of qualification
after the training. I also attended “IntelR Teach to the Future“
seminar in 2002.
Work Experience工作經驗
這段要談的是你的工作經驗－請將重點放在與你想攻讀的課程相關的工作經驗。可以從目前的工作談起，內容可以這樣寫：
- 在哪兒工作多久
- 你的職銜、職責
- 工作成就
- 為什麼這份工作讓你想申請相關碩士課程
如果這份工作只是工讀沒關係。記住－任何工作經驗對你而言都是很有價值，讓你能瞭解真實生活的問題及實際的解決辦法。於是，這部份您應該詳細把所負責的工作內容、曾經從事過的工作，不論兼職、全職等一一列出並解釋清楚。其中包括求學時期當家教、擔任過的社團幹部，服兵役及其它的社會工作經驗等。尤其該經驗若與所申請課程相關，特別申請的課程要求你需相關工作經驗，要儘可能詳細說明，例如－MBA、英語教學碩士或教育碩士。
請寫：簡潔明瞭的句子：
My company had numerous problems with staff schedules. I was
given responsibility for this and successfully reorganized
the system on computer.
不要寫
My company had so many difficult and complicated problems
with staff, therefore I strived and executed all the factors
with total dedication. Eventually all the problems were solved
and I was praised and admired, which taught me a lot about
leadership and teamwork.
Motivation動機
本段應解釋為什麼想念該課程
修碩士課程
(ie) Therefore, I realize that, at this stage in my career,
I have to develop my professional ability and I am willing
to learn more effective and practical teaching methods and
techniques to further my knowledge and advance my professional
skills.
* 為什麼想唸這個領域
* 為什麼選擇英國?
請不要寫選擇英國是因為碩士課程只需花一年的時間。請不要抄襲學校網站的內容－立刻就會被看出來，非常不好。
Future Career Plan未來求職計劃
這是一個完成強而有力結論的機會。再次強調為何要選擇英國及選擇此課程、及學成歸國後未來的動向和預期投入何種職場。
在這裡應該寫
- 回到台灣計劃做的工作
- 你覺得在英國學到的知識能夠如何幫助你未來的工作
(ie)I believe I can absorb a great deal of professional knowledge
that will serve me well in my future career. I believe that
after this course, I will increase my competitiveness in the
job market and be able to embark on a good career in logistics.
是否還想唸博士學位
該避免的錯誤
1) 不要特別去用字典裡困難、華麗的文字，句子儘量簡潔。
2) 不要每個句子寫完空兩隔。
3) 不要寫太長。短且簡單即可。使用word檔提供的拼字檢查功能。
4) 避免用的字：
i. “aggressive” ,this should be translated as “positive” or
“enthusiastic”
ii. “deeply” as in I deeply understood the new rules. This
should be translated as “fully”
iii. “Touched upon” as in “I once touched upon marketing at
school ” this should be translated as “I encountered” or “I
also studied”….
iv. Mentor. It is better to use teacher.
v. I have ever …. is incorrect. The correct sentence is simply
“I have …..before”
vi. “I hope to gain a complete intact knowledge” does not
need the word “intact”

以上許多規定在這裡也要遵守。
常犯的錯誤:
- 推薦函及讀書計畫重覆相同的東西
- 兩封推薦函重覆－記住這應是由兩個不同的人寫的。
- 不要在你的學術推薦函上寫工作經驗這部份。
- 試著包括你的一些特殊技巧及成就，而不要只是寫 “Mr Chen was the best student, hard
working”等形容詞而已。
- 不要抄襲別人的推薦函－很容易被查出來，而且你的推廌函是屬於你的。
- 確認你用的姓別代名詞正確，例如：He / him (man) she / her (woman)，許多推薦函都有搞錯的情況“Miss
Huang….his work….he was…her project….”
Resumes 簡歷
常見錯誤
- 簡歷－一頁即可，不能超過2頁。
- 不要用不同顏色的字
- 不要用不同字體：一般即可
- 不要用表格或Excel製作履歷表－請使用word文字檔
- 不要用中文履歷方式，寫血型、體重等。可參考UKEAS提供的範例。
- 不要掃描照片
- 相關獲獎／學位均簡明表示，例如不用寫你小學時得了賽跑第五名這種事。
- 語言－中文、台語及英文的流利度。不要寫你英文很流利－審件者自然會從你的IELTS或TOEFL成績得知。
